We begin by discussing your ideas for the design and inscription. If you are unsure what to choose, our caring consultants will gently guide you, whether by phone, email, or in person at our Didcot office. We also check any cemetery or churchyard regulations on your behalf, so you can feel confident moving forward.

Once you are comfortable with the design, we confirm the cost in full. To begin the process, we kindly ask for a 10% deposit plus cemetery fees. Payments can be made in whichever way is easiest for you — by card or bank transfer

A computer drawing of your chosen memorial is then created, allowing you to clearly see how it will look. You can view and approve this online, by email, or by post, and we’ll happily make any changes you feel are needed until it feels right.

We handle all the paperwork for you. A detailed application is completed and sent to the relevant cemetery or church office, along with the permit fee. This ensures everything is taken care of on your behalf.

Once approval is granted, we order the materials from one of our trusted suppliers. Many materials are available quickly — sometimes within two weeks. If we have your chosen stone in stock here at Set in Stone Didcot, we can move forward without delay.

Your memorial is then carefully prepared by our experienced craftsmen. Every detail — from the cutting and polishing to the inscription — is carried out with the utmost care and respect, ensuring a fitting tribute to your loved one.

Finally, your memorial is installed at the grave by our licensed and insured fixing team. We follow British Standard BS8415 and the NAMM Code of Working Practice, giving you peace of mind that your memorial is secure, safe, and lasting.
